Scrubbing Unit Packed Column Absorbers

ANTICO PackAbsorb™ is designed for gas–liquid mass transfer operations involving absorption, scrubbing, and stripping in a packed bed column configuration.

The working principle involves gas flowing upward through a bed of packing material while liquid flows downward, creating a large interfacial area for efficient gas absorption. The system includes a column shell, structured or random packing, liquid distributor, gas inlet and outlet, and liquid sump. It is widely used for removal of acid gases such as HCl, SO₂, H₂S, NH₃, and HF from process streams. The high surface area packing enhances mass transfer between the gas and scrubbing liquid. Packed columns offer low pressure drop, flexibility in operation, and ease of scale-up. The system is suitable for corrosive gas environments with appropriate material selection. ANTICO PackAbsorb™ provides reliable, high-efficiency absorption for environmental compliance and process gas treatment applications.
